AG appeals against award of K50 million

Lawyers from Attorney General's Chambers in Lilongwe on Wednesday filed a notice of appeal at Liwonde Magistrate's Court in Machinga against judgement of Senior Resident Magistrate who awarded eight people money in excess of K50 million in February this year.

The Attorney General, representing Malawi Police Service, filed the notice to have the appeal heard in the High Court of Malawi.

Senior State Advocate Ndoli Chiume filed the notice of appeal.

The respondent in the matter is Tiyesi Masangwi and seven others.
