In a bid to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of State party reporting, the Ministry of Justice has today organized an orientation for members of the National Mechanism for Implementation, Reporting, and Follow-up (NMIRF) in Lilongwe.
This significant event underscores the importance of equipping NMIRF members, drawn from various government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), the Civil Society, and academia, with the essential knowledge and skills to navigate the complex landscape of international reporting obligations.
The orientation, funded by the UNDP, is meticulously designed to provide members with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved in State party reporting. Such reporting is pivotal for Malawi to fulfill its international human rights obligations and maintain transparency in its commitments to various treaties and conventions.
This orientation serves as a foundational pillar, ensuring that NMIRF members are well-versed in the guidelines, protocols, and expectations associated with State party reporting. This empowerment enables them to produce thorough, accurate, and timely reports that reflect Malawi’s compliance with international standards.
By orienting members on best practices in reporting, the Ministry of Justice aims to enhance the accountability and transparency of Malawi’s engagements on the international stage.
Proper training ensures that the reports are not only comprehensive but also highlight the country’s efforts and progress in upholding human rights and other treaty obligations.
